THE NUMINOUS JOURNEY

We believe in living life to its fullest, and we are constantly grateful that God created such a beautiful world. Each time we travel, we marvel in the uniqueness of each new place.

Numinous is defined by Merriam-Webster as “1: supernatural; mysterious 2: filled with a sense of the presence of divinity”. Journey can mean so many things - a vacation, a career, college, a long day, or even life. Together, the two words can apply to different situations - for us, every day is a blessing that God has awakened us for, and that in itself is a numinous journey. Why are we here? What are we supposed to do? We can’t answer those questions, but God can.

 We created the numinous journey as our personal reminder that we don’t live each day for ourselves and that everything happens for a reason. We have a voice, and we are using it to chronicle all that happens along our journey.  

We met in 2010, shortly before we began high school. We started dating on Valentine's Day of our senior year of high school, and both enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln the next fall. College was a time of learning for us as individuals, and as a couple. We both grew as leaders and had incredible opportunities. All of which led us to be crowned UNL's Homecoming King and Queen our senior year, which ended with Shayne getting down on one knee and proposing - and, me saying yes!

Since then, we've graduated, gotten jobs, adopted two cats, celebrated the sacrament of marriage, bought a house, and made countless memories.
